On December 27th, the "Mass Production and Customer Delivery Ceremony of Hefei ESWIN COF Tape and Reel Project, the First Mass Production Line in Chinese Mainland" was held in Hefei Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Hefei New Station High-tech Zone. This marks the official mass production of the largest COF tape and reel production base in Chinese mainland and opens a new chapter in the COF tape and reel industry in Chinese mainland.
At the ceremony, Hefei ESWIN delivered COF tape and reel products to well-known design companies Novatek, Solomon Systech and Ruiding. Wang Jiaheng, chairman of Hefei ESWIN, said at the ceremony that COF tape and reel, as a key material component in the integrated circuit industry chain, will be the future development trend of localized production and improving the domestic self-sufficiency rate. The company started construction in May 2018 and successfully achieved mass production and customer delivery in only one and a half years, filling the gap in the industry in Chinese mainland.
It is reported that the total investment of Hefei ESWIN COF tape and reel production line project is 1.27 billion yuan, with a design capacity of 70 million pieces per month, a full annual output value of 1 billion yuan, and more than 800 jobs. It mainly produces COF tape and reel, which is used to connect semiconductor display chips and end products, and is a key material in COF packaging. The products have the characteristics of ultra-thin, lightweight, high integration, and can be bypassed, and are widely used in display devices, artificial intelligence, Internet of Vehicles, wearable devices and other fields.
The mass production of Hefei ESWIN COF tape and reel project has realized the localized production of COF tape and reel in Chinese mainland, effectively filling the industrial gap, creating another milestone in the semiconductor field in mainland China, and also marking another important breakthrough in the field of key materials for integrated circuits in Hefei and even Anhui Province.
Hefei ESWIN said that it will start from mass production, continue to uphold the tenacious style of not being afraid of difficulties and facing difficulties, seize opportunities, innovate and forge ahead, and build the largest, best and strongest COF tape and reel production base in Chinese mainland.
